OS Ten El Capitan ( el KAP-i-TAHN ) (version 10.11) is the twelfth major release of macOS (named OS X at the time of El Capitan's release), Apple tree Inc.'due south desktop and server operating organisation for Macintosh. OS X El Capitan has a new security feature called Organisation Integrity Protection (SIP,[29] sometimes referred to as "rootless"[30] [31]) that protects sure system processes, files and folders from being modified or tampered with past other processes even when executed by the root user or by a user with root privileges (sudo).
